Meet the Founder: Todd Armstrong

Todd Armstrong founded Armstrong Smart Access in 2019 with a vision to disrupt the static nature of the Australian building industry.
While the market was flooded with novelty gadgets, Todd saw a lack of cohesive, industrial-grade solutions that actually worked together.
He recognized that a property manager or homeowner shouldn't need five different apps to open a door, turn on a light, and water the lawn.
Todd built Armstrong Smart Access to solve this fragmentation. Under his leadership, the company has evolved from a product supplier into a holistic automation consultancy. He championed the move into "Smart Garden" technology, realising that for the Australian market, automating irrigation via weather stations and soil data was just as critical as securing the front entrance.
Known for his hands-on approach, Todd is deeply involved in the product selection process. Whether it’s stress-testing a new roller blind motor or configuring a complex gateway network for a student accommodation block, he ensures that every piece of hardware meets the Armstrong standard of reliability.
Today, Todd is focused on the big picture: creating properties that are secure, energy-efficient, and intelligently responsive to the people living in them.
