Google Home allows you to control compatible smart locks, cameras, sensors, lights, switches and other smart home devices from a single app using your smartphone, Google Nest speaker or Google Assistant.

For most smart locks and smart home products, the easiest setup method is:

Recommended Setup Order

  1. Add the device to its manufacturer's app first.
  2. Confirm the device works correctly.
  3. Connect that app to Google Home.
For example:
Smart Lock
      ↓
Tuya Smart
      ↓
Google Home
This is often more reliable than attempting to add the device directly to Google Home.

Step 1: Install Google Home

Android Devices

  1. Open Google Play.
  2. Search for: 
    Google Home
  3. Install the app.
  4. Open the app.

Apple iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Search for: 
    Google Home
  3. Install the app.
  4. Open the app.

Samsung Galaxy Devices

Many Samsung users can install Google Home from:
  • Google Play
Google Home works alongside Samsung SmartThings and does not replace it.
Many customers use both applications together.

Step 2: Sign in to Your Google Account

  1. Open Google Home.
