A multi-point 85 series mortice is a high-security lock body designed to secure a door at multiple locations along the frame, rather than just at the center. Like the standard series, it maintains the 85mm centre-to-centre distance between the handle and cylinder.

Key features of a multi-point 85 series mortice include:

Full-Height Security: The central lock body drives additional locking points (such as hooks, rollers, or mushrooms) located at the top and bottom of the door. This makes the door significantly harder to force open or pry apart from the frame.

Anti-Warping & Sealing: By locking the door at multiple points, it pulls the door tight against the frame along its entire height. This helps prevent timber doors from warping and ensures a better weather seal against drafts and noise.

85mm Compatibility: Despite the complex internal gearing, the handle and cylinder spacing remains 85mm, allowing it to be used with standard 85mm door furniture and smart locks.

Operation: These locks often function by lifting the handle to engage the multiple locking points, followed by turning the key (or thumbturn) to deadbolt the mechanism.
